NHL IN 30-2013/14: CAROLINA HURRICANES

Posted by steve on Thu, 2013-09-05 16:19

Carolina GM Jim Rutherford made a huge splash last season with several high-profile offensive acquisitions, but those moves were not enough to push the Hurricanes back into the playoff mix. Newcomers Alexander Semin and Jordan Staal helped Carolina form one of the NHL’s better top-six set of forwards, but injuries to key players such as Cam Ward and Jeff Skinner, derailed any hopes for regular season success. However, much optimism reigns as the team has plenty of skill to compete in the Eastern Conference and the opportunity to crash the playoff party in 2013/14.
